Couples Photo Shoot Session at Lancaster County Central Park
“Don’t worry, they’re married!” I called jokingly as another set of visitors walked by as Deb and Ethan kissed during their couples photo shoot session at Lancaster County Central Park. Deb generously giggled, as she always does, no matter how bad the joke. Ethan only smiled, but the warmth reached all the way up to his eyes.
My favorite thing about Deb and Ethan is the thing that everyone always mentions about them: they’ve been together forever. Since high school. Sometimes they may even pull out a throwback photo, which is always a charming treat. That type of time and history can certainly manifest into all sorts of relationship dynamics, but I think Deb and Ethan’s may be my favorite. It is a comfort and easiness that always reminds me of a favorite tshirt or worn pair of shoes. You get the feeling that they are exactly the same if there’s a bunch of people around or no one around. The same relaxed nature was evident as they were telling me about their new house and then when I asked them to snuggle up for the next pose.
Deb and Ethan, thank you for a session that reminded me what #couplesgoals should actually look like. Sure, the highlight reels on social media and general high points of life are great (and worth celebrating), but maybe that sort of every day easiness should be what we all actually strive for.
